Note: Chapter 23 is a hiatus notice
When Ting Wo opened the door, the scene that entered his eyes was being processed in his head.
Once his brain had finished processing, Ting cursed.
The scene in front of him was just bloody scary, there wasn’t any blood but, he knew for a fact that they were dead.
On the floor were two corpses, likely of a couple who looked like they were being intimate and was having intercourse at the time of death.
The couple were likely to have died recently and the thing that made him disgusted was that there was an arrow pointing to the point between their connection point.
“MY TASK IS TO TAKE THE CONDOM?!” Ting shrieked. “THE FUCK?”
“Why is this my task? Ting sighed. “My first task is to take a condom and leave the building?”
Ting heard noises in the next room, hearing this he got goosebumps and quickly dispersed his thoughts and ran toward the two deceased on the body, pulled them apart and ripped off the condom from the slab of meat.
Holding the condom, he felt it was disgusting. and quickly put it in his pocket and ran out the door.
What greeted him when he exited the door was a pale looking old man. But, the frightening part was that Ting could see through him.
This was a ghost! Ting had been scared sh*tless.
At this point, Ting had forgotten this was a simulation and made a run for the stairs.
As he tried to run, from the corner of his eye, he could see a semi-transparent body shifting through the door of room 333.
Seeing this Ting ran even faster. Finally arriving at the door to the staircase, he yanked it open and flew down the stairs.
When he got to the first floor, he headed to the storage room which he had entered from.
When he entered the room, the room looked perfectly as he had never entered before and searched around. In addition to the perfect room that was like how it used to be, he saw a man and a woman cleaning it up.
Without any energy showing from their eyes, they stared at him when he opened the door and entered the room.
Their eyes were listless as if they were zombies, making faint groans every so often. One could tell that they were furious someone wrecked their storage room.
Ting now believed that these two were the owners of the storage room and they may be even the owners to room 333.
When he got stared at by those lifeless and deep eyes, chills spread from Tings’ spine.
Ting was in a difficult place as if he was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Where do I go? Will they attack me? These were some of the questions he was asking himself as he was slowly moving back and out of the door.
When he finally left the door frame of the room, only then did the couple chase him.
“Holy sh*t! They are really chasing after me. It’s like I killed their grandson!” Ting thought in his head. His head was in a mess, he was quickly thinking of how to get out of here.
Recalling the blueprint which he memorized he knew there was actually a window in the hallway which was beside the staircase.
Rushing towards the window, he kicked and broke the window. Slipping through the window he got to the outside. When he looked behind him, the couple also tried to climb out.
Knowing they were still going to follow him, he didn’t look back and ran back to the building he started in. Now remembering that this was just a simulation he relaxed a bit but he couldn’t help but curse.
“Is this how my first simulation is supposed to be?” He cursed out loud.
——
Ting successfully got back safely and was brought back to the “classroom” or it should be called a lecture hall like those in universities.
The moment he was brought back, he heard his teacher congratulate him.
“Ha, ha. Good work, you can improve a lot more though.” Di Zhang chuckled.
Ting profaned, “Why was it like this? Why does the first simulation I do scare, need to scare me? My soul nearly left my mortal body.”
“That’s because you need to get put into situations where it will be more pressuring than actual events…”, Di Zhang paused.
“You need to be able to be calm at every moment inside the foreign territory. That is why the first simulation you went through puts you in a situation that frightens you. It’s teaching you the most important aspect, being calm no matter what the situation is.” He finished.
“Oh, I understand.” Ting nodded.
“I will be explaining what not to do when infiltrating.” Di Zhang went on about the ‘Don’t Do’ elements when one swims in uncharted territories.

It had been almost a week for Ting as he persevered through the simulations, clearly practicing with his utmost ability. Trying to stay calm and collected during each of his simulations. React to the unexpected events that are brought against him.
Finally, Ting heard the sound that delighted him the most, even though he knew he had finished the course, hearing the notification brought him great satisfaction as he heard the notification he had a grin plastered on his face.
“Congratulations for completing the course!”
“Reward for completion: +490 EXP, +300 System Credits” These announcements could be heard at every corner in the main room.
He was brought back to the main room when he was notified for completing the course. Having been brought back, he quickly asked Ling Zhou to show his current stats.
